A unique opportunity for a Geotechnical Advisor or Senior Advisor to join one of the UK’s most successful building and civils main contractors with an in-house geotechnical team. The role involves providing support on geotechnical problems and earthworks across a range of projects in both the buildings and civil engineering sectors. You will liaise with external design consultants and provide advice to site teams, including value engineering solutions.
Key Duties:- Providing technical support to project teams regarding general geotechnical requirements on live projects.
- Assisting in earthworks procurement and reviewing earthworks specifications, strategies, and plans.
- Conducting on-site testing and site investigations.
- Validating earthwork strategies and providing geotechnical risk registers and assessments.
- Liaising with external geotechnical engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
- Resolving matters arising during or post-completion of construction works.
- Knowledge of the building and/or civil engineering sector.
- Previous employment as a Geotechnical Engineer, Design Engineer, Civil Engineer, Geo-Environmental Consultant, Geotechnical Advisor, Design Manager, or similar.
- Strong background in foundation design/geotechnics.
- Relevant industry qualification (Degree/HND/HNC etc).
- Previous experience on earthworks or slope stability projects is ideal.
- Some previous experience in earthworks supervision would be advantageous.
The role will involve a mix of remote working and site visits, requiring flexibility to travel nationwide. While the company is centrally based, candidates from various locations are welcome as long as they can travel to visit sites.
Remuneration:- Competitive basic salary (dependent on experience).
