LOCATION: Worcestershire/West Midlands (Full Time Remote Work also available)
This employer is situated on the outskirts of Birmingham, just a short distance from multiple supermarkets, coffee houses, food shops and more. ROLE: My client is looking for talented and motivated generalist game artists to help develop and deliver high quality art for AAA games. As a generalist artist, you will work on most art disciplines including Character, Environment and Prop, so a great opportunity to get good all round game art experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the art team to develop fully realised 3D assets for use in large-scale game world environments.
- Communicate and collaborate with your Art Lead to deliver models to specification that suit their environment and purpose.
- Create and maintain texture and model libraries.
- Work within the specifications of the project and technology, keeping assets optimised and within budget.
REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this Artist role you must meet the following criteria:
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Demonstrate understanding of colour theory in your texturing to enable you to get the most out of props using the appropriate map creation techniques.
- High quality level of 3D modelling for games using 3D Studio Max and/or Maya, as well as sculpting packages (preferably Zbrush).
- Good standard of unwrapping and texture creation using Photoshop and/or Substance Painter.
- Basic understanding of material and model setup within Unreal Engine 4.
- Understanding of animation and how best to structure geometry for deformation (advantageous but not essential).
- Knowledgeable with Substance Painter & Designer or Quixel Mixer (advantageous but not essential).
- Experience using Trello or similar organisational tool set (advantageous but not essential).
