ROLE
As Estimator your role will include
Reporting to the Managing Estimator and supported by the Senior Estimator and Pre-construction Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial elements of tenders. The tenders will be a mixture of “Design and Build” and “Traditional” contractors. The projects vary in value from £2m to £30m and are across a range of sectors including highway authorities, industrial developments, rail and environmental. Other duties will include:
- Responsible for the tender from receipt, through to submission and post tender queries.
- Consult with internal and external tender team.
- Mark up enquiries to be sent out to the supply chain, produce or organise Bills of Quantities production and obtain material quotes.
- Evaluate returned quotations from supply chain and consult with supply chain member to bring quotations in line with the project specification requirements.
- Prepare and evaluate risk and opportunity.
- Arrange and prepare commercial documents for Tender Handover meetings.
- Review supply chain performance quarterly.
- Attend pre-qualification, mid tender, and post tender interviews.
- Visit sites to obtain feedback.
REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this Estimator role you must meet the following criteria:
– Knowledge of Civils / Highways Sector.
– Previous employment as an Assistant Estimator, Estimator, Senior Estimator or similar.
– Previous experience / knowledge in Civils, Highways or Rail sector projects.
– Previous Main Contractor employment
– Excellent communication skills.
– Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
