ROLE:
As Audio Programmer / Audio Engineer your role will include:
Seekinga skilled and innovative AudioEngineerto join our clients dedicated video game development team. As an Audio Programmer, you will play a critical role in enhancing player immersion and engagement by designing, implementing, andoptimizingcutting-edgeaudio systems and features. Collaborating closely with audio designers, game programmers, and other team members, you will contribute to the creation of immersive and captivating soundscapes that bring games to life.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with audio designers and technical leads to design and develop advanced audio systems that deliver dynamic and interactive soundscapes within the game.
- Utilise UE4 & UE5 tools to create audio systems for designers to manipulate.
- Integrate and customize audio middleware solutions (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) to facilitate seamless integration of audio assets and dynamic audio behaviours.
- Implement real-time interactive audio features that respond to in-game events, player actions, and environmental changes, enhancing the player experience.
- Develop real-time audio processing algorithms for effects, spatialization, reverb, and other audio enhancements to create a rich and immersive auditory environment.
- Profile and optimize audio systems to achieve optimal performance and resource utilization, ensuring smooth playback across various platforms.
- Work closely with audio designers, programmers, and other team members to ensure audio systems align with gameplay and narrative goals.
- Quickly diagnose and troubleshoot technical audio issues, providing effective solutions to maintain high-quality audio playback.
- Develop and maintain tools that streamline audio workflows, empower audio designers, and facilitate efficient implementation of audio assets.
- Maintain clear and organized code and documentation, enabling effective collaboration within the development team.

Seeking an ambitious Audio Programmer / Audio Engineer to join the team.
REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this Audio Programmer / Engineer role you must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Audio Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in C++ and experience with audio programming libraries and tools, with a solid understanding of audio principles and digital signal processing (DSP).
- Experience with audio middleware integration (Wwise, FMOD) and an understanding of their capabilities and implementation workflows.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine, including audio integration, scripting, and optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose, address, and prevent technical audio issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A deep appreciation for audio’s role in enhancing player experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for video games.
Desirable Skills:
- Programming knowledge, such as HTML, C++ or C# languages to a production quality level.
- Good working knowledge of C++ for Unreal Engine.
- Previous shipped title(s) within a relevant game production pipeline.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
- Experience collaborating with remote or distributed teams.
