We are recruiting for a private chef for a young family based in Cheshire. To apply for this post you need to be already in the U.K. and be legal to work in the U.K.

The job is to cook dinner for the family 5 days per week, usually Monday to Friday, approximately 6 hours per day. The post is an employed position, with pension contribution and holiday pay as standard. Pay rate is dependent on experience and in the range of £20 - £25 per hour. Chefs are also compensated for using their vehicle to shop for food for the client.

The role is all about healthy nutritious food. The clients love fresh flavours and simple well presented food with the occasional sweet treat. They have a varied palate and like classic, simple, well seasoned, well presented food.

If you are looking to make the transition to Private Chef from Restaurant Chef, this may well be the role for you, as full training and support will be given. Even if you already have some experience in working as a chef in private households, we will train you to provide the service the way the client prefers.

How to shine: we are looking for chefs who are good listeners (taking the order), flexible (timings may change) and chefs who are as comfortable cooking in the kitchen as they are talking to the client. Ability to interact with the client is very important. Being a private chef is about listening to the client’s wishes and asking for clarification when needed.

You need to work cleanly and tidily. You will need to understand the basics of nutrition: protein, fats and carbs. You will need to be happy and relaxed working in someone’s home.

As with most private chef roles, this job includes keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, laying the table and shopping for food. It is ESSENTIAL that you have your own vehicle for daily food shopping.

Please send your CV and photos of your food to apply. Thank you for your interest in this role.
