Job Description
Head of Oil Trading
Talisman Advisory Partners is working with a leading global proprietary trading firm known for its technological edge, entrepreneurial culture, and deep expertise across the energy markets.
This firm has built a world-class electronic trading platform – combining cutting-edge infrastructure with the agility to capture opportunities across global commodities.
With an established presence in key trading hubs and a strong capital base, they are now seeking a Head of OTC Oil Trading to lead and expand their physical and financial oil operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a best-in-class oil trading desk, recruiting and mentoring talent.
- Develop and execute trading strategies across swaps, derivatives, and cleared products (ICE, CME).
- Manage risk, limits, and exposure in alignment with firmwide frameworks.
- Collaborate with technology and analytics teams to refine systems and models.
- Stay ahead of market trends, regulatory shifts, and liquidity developments.
Ideal Profile
- Proven success in OTC oil trading with strong PnL delivery.
- Deep understanding of global oil markets and derivatives structure.
