We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator on behalf of our client in London. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mission‑critical infrastructure while ensuring the highest levels of performance, security, and availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, and configure internal and customer‑facing servers, network devices, and firewalls.
  • Proactively manage and maintain server, network, and firewall systems.
  • Administer and support core Microsoft and VMware technologies.
  • Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments, and contingency strategies.
  • Design and implement monitoring, configuration management, and reporting functions to ensure a hands‑off environment.
  • Define and document best practices and support procedures.
  • Provide after‑hours support for infrastructure‑related emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
  • Assist with the evaluation, recommendation, and negotiation of hardware, firewall, telecom, and software vendors.

What makes you a great fit?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes administration, including cluster setup, upgrades, security, and monitoring.
  • Proven experience with MySQL in production environments, particularly with high‑performance and replication architectures.
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (EKS, RDS (MySQL), CloudFront, Route 53, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking and communications, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, CDNs, and firewall/WAF management.
  • Good knowledge of Linux administration and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD, Jenkins, etc.

Salary £65k – £70k based on experience with benefits package.
