We are looking for a Project Manager – R&D Department on behalf of our client. This is a great opportunity to play an active role in European research projects and commercial innovation initiatives, while working in a dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee EU-funded R&D/R&I projects, ensuring timely achievement of objectives.
  • Participate in consortia, meetings, workshops, conferences, and training events in London and abroad.
  • Lead and coordinate internal teams and consortium partners as Work Package/Task Leader, across areas such as technical/scientific activities, dissemination, communication, exploitation, innovation, and quality/risk management.
  • Define project technical specifications with stakeholders, ensuring feasibility and optimal allocation of resources.
  • Prepare, review, and deliver technical and non-technical reports and project deliverables on time.
  • Contribute to technical research and innovation in fields of European relevance, including (but not limited to) 5G/6G, edge and cloud computing, IoT, AI/ML, cybersecurity, digital twins, blockchain, distributed architectures and software technologies.
  • Deliver high-quality presentations at conferences and events, while building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Develop and monitor project plans, track milestones, and ensure compliance with project goals.
  • Conduct quality assurance and risk management, applying mitigation strategies when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, consortium partners, and executive-level stakeholders to align with strategic objectives.
  • Perform successfully in multicultural and high-pressure environments, demonstrating independence, initiative, and results-driven performance.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • PhD in ICT, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience managing EU-funded R&D/R&I projects. Coordination experience is a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of ICT-related R&D/R&I topics with the ability to contribute technically.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, with strong presentation abilities.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with great attention to detail, planning, and coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience collaborating with international partners.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, Outlook).
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is considered a major advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to travel abroad as required.
