A boutique leading global financial consulting firm with teams around the world is looking for a UK or Germany based Accountant to join the Finance team and support the maintenance and development of the company’s accounting and financial reporting framework. The role is part of the Finance team and contributes to accurate financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and the continuous improvement of finance processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Accounting Framework
    • Support the maintenance and ongoing development of the accounting and financial reporting framework, including accounting policies, procedures, and related processes.
    • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements for group entities and contribute to the consolidation process.
    • Ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and consistent across legal entities.
  • Internal Controls & Risk Management
    • Support the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of internal controls within the financial reporting framework.
    • Assist in monitoring financial risks and ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
    • Prepare, perform and review reconciliations, ensuring timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
    • Perform quality assurance on various aspects of Finance Team output.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
    • Assist in compliance-related financial processes, including preparation and submission of statutory financial statements.
    • Coordination of tax filings with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
    • Tracking and support of audit recommendations and action plans.
    • Support compliance with applicable company laws, reporting requirements, IFRS or GAAP standards, and local tax regulations.
  • Audit Support
    • Assist in the planning and coordination of annual external audits.
    • Prepare audit documentation and liaise with auditors to support efficient audit execution.
    • Support the resolution of audit queries and follow-up actions.
  • Co-ordination and Communication
    • Support the management of relationship/interaction with external service providers, relevant to the finance framework.
    • Support internal communication in finance matters.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least three years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Initial professional qualification in accountancy or financial reporting preferred.
  • Knowledge of IFRS.
  • Conceptual understanding of statutory reporting and tax-related legal requirements.
  • Experience with auditing.
  • Experience or exposure to accounting systems (e.g. Xero or similar) and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
