Are you working in Personal Tax within practice and looking for a role where you'll spend more time advising clients and less time purely focused on compliance? Looking to join an established firm where you'll manage your own portfolio, build long-term client relationships and play a key role in a growing tax team? Want the opportunity to work closely with Senior Managers on complex advisory projects, while continuing to develop your career within a supportive and collaborative environment?

About the role

We're representing a well-established independent accountancy practice that's continuing to grow its tax team across Staffordshire and Cheshire. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint a Personal Tax Manager to join their experienced department. You'll take responsibility for a substantial portfolio of clients, delivering a proactive service across Personal Tax while supporting Senior Managers on advisory work and complex tax planning projects. This is a genuinely advisory-led role, with around 70% advisory and 30% compliance, giving you the opportunity to build trusted client relationships, identify planning opportunities and become a key part of the firm's continued growth.

Experience Needed

You’ll have previous experience working within a tax team in an accountancy practice and be confident managing your own client portfolio. Strong experience in Personal Tax is essential, alongside a good understanding of Corporation Tax and the confidence to support clients across a broad range of tax matters. You’ll be commercially aware, enjoy developing client relationships and be keen to mentor junior members of the team.

Why?

Join a growing independent practice where advisory work is genuinely at the heart of the role. Manage a varied portfolio while working on interesting tax planning projects and supporting the development of a high-performing tax team. Enjoy a collaborative culture, hybrid working, flexible hours, TOIL, buy/sell holiday, fully funded CPD, BUPA CashPlan, life assurance and genuine opportunities for long-term progression.
