Have you managed and led the operations of multiple teams before? Used to managing multiple projects with non-negotiable delivery dates? Are you strategically focused in your leadership approach? This is a truly unique opportunity to lead operations across two complementary divisions of a highly successful, privately owned wood design & manufacturing business.
Your role as a Manufacturing and Operations Director:
- A senior leadership role reporting to the Managing Director, managing a team of 7 direct reports and ~55 people across the wider operational function.
- Full ownership of the project delivery lifecycle, including project management, design, fabrication, logistics, procurement, and installation.
- Leading multidisciplinary teams across both divisions of the business, plus facilities management of the head office and production site.
- Providing leadership and accountability for Health & Safety across all workshops, installations and project environments, including CDM compliance.
- Driving operational efficiency and margin improvement through better systems, KPI tracking and cost control.
- The role involves regular UK travel to project and event sites, with occasional international travel for global client projects.
Ideal Background for the Manufacturing and Operations Director:
- Senior operational leadership experience, ideally within a multidisciplinary manufacturing and design environment.
- Management knowledge of commercial fitouts, temporary structures, or specialist one-off builds are of interest.
- Demonstrated success improving operational efficiency and margins.
