Your Role as a CAM Engineer:

  • Implementing a range of CAM software solutions into new and existing customers.
  • Writing and commissioning custom post-processor G-codes for a variety of CNC machines from simple 3 axis mills, through to 5 axis, complex mill turn and sliding head machines.
  • Delivering training and product demonstrations to numerous customers across the UK.
  • Providing CAM consultancy programming services for complex components.
  • Meeting with and speaking daily to a range of stakeholders, from mechanical engineers through to procurement managers and board level personnel.
  • Supporting new and existing customers with technical queries and best practice advice.

Ideal Background for the CAM Engineer Position:

  • The role requires an excellent understanding of CNC programming.
  • Experience with advanced mill-turn, sliding head and 5 axis machines is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of one or more modern CAM systems from practical use such as SolidCAM, CAMWorks, Fusion 360, Mastercam, EDGEcam, hyperMILL, DELMIA.
  • Knowledge of at least one mainstream machine controller such as FANUC, HEIDENHAIN or Siemens is essential.
  • Knowledge of basic logic programming in any language is highly advantageous, but C# is preferable.
  • Prior experience in writing and editing post-processor G-code is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and presenting skills.
  • Full, valid driving licence.
  • Willing and able to travel to one of the offices at least twice per week.
  • Right to work in RoI indefinitely as no sponsorship is available.

The Package for the CAM Engineer:

  • €35,000 - €47,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
  • €7k Car Allowance.
  • 8 - 12% Personal bonus + Company Bonus.
  • Hybrid working role split between office, home, and customer sites.
  • Pension, mobile, laptop/tablet, healthcare.
  • 25 days holiday plus stats (increasing with time served).
