We are currently recruiting for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join a premier global logistics provider. This role is focused on driving new business growth across all modes of transport—including road, sea, and air—within the Northampton region and beyond. Our client is looking for a proactive sales professional who can position the business as a trusted solution provider, moving beyond simple service delivery to build long-term, value-added partnerships.
Our client is a leading independently owned freight forwarding and logistics company established in 2002. Operating a worldwide network, they provide bespoke, personal solutions for international transportation, warehousing, and dynamic supply chain management.
The Role
- Pipeline Management: Generate new business within your assigned region and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities using Salesforce CRM.
- Strategic Targeting: Identify and target key verticals and strategic accounts, focusing on profitable and sustainable business.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain long‑term relationships with international clients, delivering a structured account management approach.
- Onboarding & Collaboration: Support the onboarding of new accounts and work collaboratively with internal teams, including operations and finance.
- Pricing & Finance: Ensure pricing structures are accurate and liaise with the finance team to support payment collections.
- Marketing & Visibility: Support marketing activity by contributing to company communications, including social media and e‑brochures.
Requirements & Location
- Multi‑Modal Experience: You must have a proven track record of winning new logistics clients across all modes: Road, Sea, and Air freight.
- Work Arrangement: Remote working is available for candidates not local to the Sunbury-on-Thames Head Office.
- Professionalism: You must manage your diary effectively to maximise productivity and act in line with company values at all times.
Commission Structure
- Commission: Typically around 10%, with the potential to increase up to 15% depending on the overall package.
- Lifetime Commission: Commission is paid for the lifetime of the account once secured, and rates remain fixed over time.
- Quarterly Payouts: Commission is paid quarterly, subject to targets, once salary and car allowance have been fully covered.
