About the Opportunity

We are delighted to be partnering with an established, technically focused distributor and commercial supplier based in Bournemouth. Known for their high standards of service, quality management, and commitment to commercial growth, they are seeking an experienced Technical Product Analyst to oversee their product range. In this role, you will support the Commercial Manager in supplier negotiation, inventory optimisation, product lifecycle management, and range development. Working closely with internal sales, operations, quality, and finance teams, you will ensure a resilient supply chain while maximising commercial margins across technical product lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Sourcing: Support purchasing activity, source products through authorised suppliers, and negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and minimum order quantities.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Support in price reviews, monitor lead times and quality standards, evaluate supplier performance, and resolve operational queries.
  • Inventory & Stock Optimisation: Review sales trends, customer demand, stock movement, and obsolescence risks to maintain optimal stock availability and minimise excess inventory.
  • Technical Data & Compliance: Manage technical datasheets, product specifications, part numbers, and compliance documentation within internal ERP systems.
  • Commercial Analysis: Analyse product profitability, pricing structures, and market trends to support sales price lists and strategic business decisions.
  • Product & Portfolio Management: Analyse market positioning for the business’s core technical product lines.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a commercially sharp, analytical professional with a background in technical products or components, engineering products, or related hardware supply chains.

Key Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Technical Background: Proven experience in an analytical role within a technical components, electrical, hardware, or related product environment.
  • System Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems, stock control software, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Commercial Acumen: A strong analytical mindset with experience in dealing with technical datasets.
  • Negotiation & Communication: Excellent communication skills with a confident, professional approach to managing supplier relationships and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy when handling technical part numbers, specification datasheets, and regulatory compliance records.
