About Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle de Londres (LFCG)

Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle de Londres is a long-established international school located in South Kensington, London. Founded in 1915, it is one of the largest French international schools in the world, welcoming around 3,450 pupils from more than 40 nationalities, from nursery to secondary level, across its main site and three associated primary schools. The school offers French, bilingual and British pathways, combining academic excellence with strong intercultural awareness in an inclusive and ambitious learning environment.

LFCG is part of the global network of French international schools overseen by the AEFE (Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Étranger), a public body under the authority of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Schools within this network deliver education in line with the French national curriculum while being firmly rooted in their host countries. As an EGD (Établissement en Gestion Directe), LFCG is directly managed and funded by the AEFE. Senior leadership operate within a structured governance framework, ensuring high standards in education, safeguarding, and school leadership, while benefiting from the strength and support of an internationally recognised public education network.

The school offers pupils the opportunity to follow the French national curriculum from nursery through to Sixth Form. In addition, for over 60 years, it has developed a British Section within the school, providing a high-quality academic pathway starting in Year 10 (3ème). The British Section delivers GCSE and A Level programmes, preparing students for higher education in the UK, France and internationally.
