I’m partnering with an iconic and rapidly expanding FMCG brand to appoint a Commercial Finance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that’s scaling fast, investing heavily in growth, and strengthening its presence across key retail channels. If you’re looking for a role with real commercial influence, senior stakeholder visibility and the chance to shape performance in a dynamic environment, this one stands out.
The Opportunity
As Commercial Finance Manager, you’ll work closely with senior commercial leaders to drive revenue growth, strengthen profitability and support strategic decision‑making. This is a genuinely commercial role - not operational finance - where you’ll be expected to guide the business, challenge thinking and proactively influence outcomes. You’ll translate complex financial data into clear insights, support customer negotiations, model commercial scenarios and ensure decisions are grounded in robust financial logic. Embedded with the commercial team in London, you’ll act as a trusted advisor and play a central role in steering performance and future planning.
What You’ll Lead
- Planning & Control: Own the full planning and control cycle, including month‑end, budgeting, reforecasting and long‑range planning.
- Revenue Growth Management: Partner with Sales and commercial leads to identify opportunities across pricing, promotions, assortment, channel mix and trade investment — ideally bringing hands‑on RGM experience.
- Commercial Modelling: Build and evaluate models for contracts, promotions, pricing scenarios and customer investments to support negotiations and commercial decision‑making.
- Profitability Insights: Deliver clear analysis on customer and portfolio profitability, contribution margin development and commercial performance.
- Data‑Driven Decision Making: Track KPIs, analyse variances, build business cases and strengthen operational decision‑making with high‑quality insights.
- Tools & Reporting: Champion data‑driven ways of working, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and effective use of BI and planning tools.
What You Bring
- 4+ years’ experience in Commercial Finance within FMCG or Retail.
- Strong hands‑on P&L ownership and deep exposure to pricing, promotions, trade investment and commercial modelling.
- Ability to support customer negotiations with data‑driven insight and scenario modelling.
- Ideally, experience in Revenue Growth Management (RGM).
- Strong understanding of the UK retail landscape and how commercial levers drive performance.
- Ability to turn complex data into compelling commercial stories for non‑finance stakeholders.
- Enough seniority to be proactive, handle stakeholder asks, challenge thinking and guide the business rather than simply react.
- Proficiency with BI/planning tools (Power BI or similar).
- A proactive, resilient, self‑starting approach — comfortable navigating ambiguity and getting things done.
