We are currently looking for an ambitious Technical Sales Manager to spearhead commercial growth and manage key accounts across North East England, Yorkshire and the Humber.
The Opportunity
Operating as the commercial face of the business in your territory, you will blend strategic account management with proactive business development. You will work out in the field, collaborating closely with internal technical teams to design and deliver bespoke inspection and testing solutions for your customers. No two weeks are the same. Whether you are leading a technical product demonstration, scoping out a complex client requirement, or networking at major trade exhibitions, you will be instrumental in solving high-stakes manufacturing challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage your regional territory, driving both new business acquisition and the retention of high-value existing accounts.
- Conduct regular site visits to understand customer pain points and pitch high-accuracy measurement technologies.
- Manage the full commercial cycle: from scoping technical requirements and preparing bespoke proposals, to negotiating contracts and closing sales.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline data utilizing the company’s CRM system.
- Represent the business at regional networking events, trade exhibitions, and hands-on client demonstrations.
- Partner with internal departments—including technical support, customer service, and finance—to ensure a seamless customer experience from order to invoice.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regional inquiries regarding product availability, technical specifications, and pricing.
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrable success in field sales, area sales, or technical account management, ideally within capital equipment, engineering, manufacturing, or quality inspection.
- A solid grasp of engineering principles and the capacity to rapidly learn highly technical product portfolios.
- A proactive, autonomous work ethic perfectly suited to managing a busy regional patch.
- Excellent commercial acumen, confident presentation skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively at all levels.
- A collaborative mindset, happy to work independently but always ready to support the wider team.
- A full UK driving licence and readiness to travel extensively throughout the Leeds and Yorkshire area.
