We are partnering with a highly respected manufacturer based in Peterborough, known for delivering high-quality solutions to a diverse client base. They are currently seeking a dedicated Multi-Skilled Engineer to ensure maximum uptime and drive continuous improvement across their site.
You will play a pivotal role in keeping operations running smoothly, acting as the go-to technical expert for complex electrical fault finding and mechanical maintenance on high-speed automated production machinery.
The Opportunity:
- Working on a straightforward Monday to Friday days shift (8am - 4pm), you will take ownership of both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns.
- With shop floor machinery as your primary focus, you will tackle a 70% electrical / 30% mechanical split, resolving issues efficiently while proactively identifying opportunities to increase reliability.
- You will be hands-on, conducting site assessments, assisting in equipment commissioning, and occasionally supporting general building maintenance as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond swiftly to machinery breakdowns.
- Lead electrical fault finding on production machinery, control panels, sensors, and drives.
- Support mechanical maintenance across the site, including work on conveyors, bearings, belts, and gearboxes.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to increase equipment reliability and overall efficiency.
- Conduct thorough site assessments and recommend/execute remedial actions.
- Minimise operational downtime and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the facility.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment when required.
- Support general site and building maintenance, whilst maintaining shop floor machinery as the absolute priority.
