We are partnering with a highly respected manufacturer based in Peterborough, known for delivering high-quality solutions to a diverse client base. They are currently seeking a dedicated Multi-Skilled Engineer to ensure maximum uptime and drive continuous improvement across their site.

You will play a pivotal role in keeping operations running smoothly, acting as the go-to technical expert for complex electrical fault finding and mechanical maintenance on high-speed automated production machinery.

The Opportunity:

Working on a straightforward Monday to Friday days shift (8am - 4pm), you will take ownership of both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns. With shop floor machinery as your primary focus, you will tackle a 70% electrical / 30% mechanical split, resolving issues efficiently while proactively identifying opportunities to increase reliability. You will be hands-on, conducting site assessments, assisting in equipment commissioning, and occasionally supporting general building maintenance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond swiftly to machinery breakdowns.
  • Lead electrical fault finding on production machinery, control panels, sensors, and drives.
  • Support mechanical maintenance across the site, including work on conveyors, bearings, belts, and gearboxes.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to increase equipment reliability and overall efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough site assessments and recommend/execute remedial actions.
  • Minimise operational downtime and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the facility.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment when required.
  • Support general site and building maintenance, whilst maintaining shop floor machinery as the absolute priority.

A strong electrical bias (approximately 70% electrical / 30% mechanical).

Why Apply?
