The Opportunity
We are partnering with a highly successful, specialist engineering business to find an Information Security Coordinator. The heavy lifting has already been done: the foundational policies, procedures, and ISO 27001 alignments are fully established and working well. Your mission is to pick up the baton, maintain the system, and act as the internal champion for information security. This is not a technical delivery role. The company has a dedicated team of engineers handling client risk assessments and complex technical solutions. Instead, you will be the commercial and operational face of security, bridging the gap between sales, management, and technical teams.
What You Will Be Doing
- Owning the ISMS: Maintaining the established ISO 27001 management system and ensuring ongoing procedural compliance.
- Driving the Agenda: Spearheading, chairing, and coordinating the internal security group, ensuring agendas move forward and actions are executed.
- Commercial & Pre-Sales Support: We will help shape and develop your skills to allow you to act as the subject matter expert during the pre-sales phase to answer client queries regarding the company’s information controls.
- Reviewing Contracts: Assessing cyber and information security requirements for upcoming commercial projects and frameworks.
- Reporting & Metrics: Developing and tracking KPIs and security metrics for commercial contracts.
- Incident Management: Serving as the central internal point of contact for incident events and managing the subsequent reporting.
Who We Are Looking For
- Experience: You likely have 3+ years of experience since completing a graduate scheme or an initial junior compliance/security role, and you are ready for a position with more autonomy.
- Bold & Confident: You are not afraid to direct a room, chair a committee, and drive initiatives forward without getting bogged down in internal bureaucracy.
- Commercial Awareness: You understand how information security impacts the wider business and commercial contracts, not just the technical infrastructure.
- Knowledge: You have a solid appreciation of Information Security Management Systems, particularly ISO 27001.
Why Apply?
This is a fantastic opportunity to take the reins of a well-oiled machine and build your profile within a thriving business. If you are organized, decisive, and ready to make a tangible impact on commercial security governance, we want to hear from you.
