Role Objective

The Spa Supervisor plays a pivotal role in representing and enhancing the Champneys brand. The spa operation is at the very heart of our identity, and this role is key to maintaining our reputation for excellence.

With our business constantly evolving, you’ll be expected to stay up to date with industry knowledge, lead by example, and inspire your team to deliver the highest standards in treatments, service, and guest care.

Main Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Conduct daily uniform and presentation checks for all spa staff.
  • Ensure therapists follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during tours, treatment demos, and guest interactions.
  • Maintain exceptional treatment quality, adhering to allocated times and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor and communicate daily treatment and retail revenues to the team.
  • Manage therapist rotas effectively to maximise productivity.

Retail & Revenue Growth

  • Collaborate with Elemis and Clarins Account Managers to optimise retail opportunities.
  • Partner with reception to maximise revenue at every opportunity.
  • Oversee retail displays, promotions, and stock management in line with purchasing procedures.
  • Work with the in-house trainer and spa management to achieve KPI targets.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new therapists, including trade testing.
  • Assess therapist performance and provide ongoing training in treatments, customer service, and product knowledge.
  • Support and develop apprentices.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure Champneys’ customer service standards are consistently met.
  • Deliver beauty treatments to the highest standard when required.
  • Handle guest queries and concerns in a professional, solution-focused manner.
  • Support the Spa Manager with administrative tasks.
  • Liaise with product suppliers for training needs, promotional activities, and retail strategies.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure all staff are trained in fire safety, health & safety procedures, and safe use of equipment.
  • Monitor hazardous substances and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain a stocked and accessible first-aid kit in the department.
  • Ensure all treatments are only performed by fully trained and qualified staff.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of treatments, procedures, and product ranges, with the ability to adapt services to individual client needs.
  • Clear understanding of team skills and training levels to allocate work effectively.
  • Excellent understanding of Fire, Health, and Safety procedures.
  • Leadership skills with a focus on coaching, training, and inspiring a high-performance team.
