Talentmark are recruiting for a Wheat Crop Scientist to join a leading global food brand company on a contract basis for 12-months. This is a part time role, of 22.5 hours per week. Salary: £32.80 – £41.03 per hour PAYE.
Wheat Crop Scientist Role:
- Manage and grow collaborative projects focused on making wheat flour supply more sustainable.
- Assess research proposals and new technologies from external organisations to see how well they support the company's sustainability goals.
- Work closely with internal biscuit category teams to ensure R&D activity aligns with their sourcing, quality and environmental requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners, including farmers, millers and procurement teams.
- Analyse biological data and produce clear, well-evidenced conclusions from research findings.
Your Background:
- Degree in plant sciences plus at least eight years' experience in plant breeding or agronomy, or a PhD in a relevant field with five or more years' experience.
- Strong knowledge of plant breeding and agronomy, ideally in wheat or other cereal crops.
- Proven experience managing projects that bring together both external R&D partners and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and translate complex supply chain requirements across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Fluent in English; French would be a bonus.
