A confidential, rapidly growing organisation within the clinical trials and life sciences sector is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead the development and execution of its global supplier network. This is a high-impact role combining strategic sourcing leadership with hands-on operational execution, ensuring reliable, compliant, and cost-effective access to commercial drug products and related materials used in global clinical studies. You will play a key role in shaping sourcing strategy, strengthening supplier partnerships, and enabling seamless supply continuity across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Strategy & Development
- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies aligned to current and future clinical trial requirements.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers across key international markets.
- Maintain and expand product access across US, EU, LATAM, APAC, and MENA regions.
- Build and sustain strong, long-term supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
- Demand-Led Supply Planning
- Collaborate closely with Clinical Trial Supply and Commercial teams to understand pipeline demand.
- Translate business needs into actionable sourcing and supplier engagement plans.
- Support forward planning, capacity management, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Commercial & Cost Management
- Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
- Manage cost structures to support organisational margin and financial targets.
- Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Supplier Qualification, Audit & Compliance
- Oversee supplier qualification, onboarding, and audit processes.
- Ensure all suppliers meet required regulatory, quality, and operational standards.
- Partner with Quality and Operations teams to resolve audit findings and compliance issues.
- Supplier Performance Management
- Define and monitor supplier KPIs and service level agreements.
- Manage performance issues, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Market Intelligence & External Engagement
- Monitor global market trends, availability risks, and sourcing challenges.
- Engage with suppliers, distributors, and industry networks.
