A confidential, rapidly growing organisation within the clinical trials and life sciences sector is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead the development and execution of its global supplier network. This is a high-impact role combining strategic sourcing leadership with hands-on operational execution, ensuring reliable, compliant, and cost-effective access to commercial drug products and related materials used in global clinical studies. You will play a key role in shaping sourcing strategy, strengthening supplier partnerships, and enabling seamless supply continuity across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Strategy & Development: Develop and implement global sourcing strategies aligned to current and future clinical trial requirements. Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers across key international markets. Maintain and expand product access across US, EU, LATAM, APAC, and MENA regions. Build and sustain strong, long-term supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
- Demand-Led Supply Planning: Collaborate closely with Clinical Trial Supply and Commercial teams to understand pipeline demand. Translate business needs into actionable sourcing and supplier engagement plans. Support forward planning, capacity management, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Commercial & Cost Management: Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, and commercial terms. Manage cost structures to support organisational margin and financial targets. Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Supplier Qualification, Audit & Compliance: Oversee supplier qualification, onboarding, and audit processes. Ensure all suppliers meet required regulatory, quality, and operational standards. Partner with Quality and Operations teams to resolve audit findings and compliance issues.
- Supplier Performance Management: Define and monitor supplier KPIs and service level agreements. Manage performance issues, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Market Intelligence & External Engagement: Monitor global market trends, availability risks, and sourcing challenges. Engage with suppliers, distributors, and industry networks. Represent the organisation at relevant supplier and industry engagements where required.
