Talentmark are recruiting for a R&D Technician to join a Carbon coatings manufacturing company at their site based near Sheffield on a full time, permanent basis, for 36.25 hours per week. Salary is flexible, dependent on qualifications and experience, and can be discussed over a call.

The Company
A leading manufacturer and supplier of coatings for metallurgical industries.

Location
The R&D Technician will be based at the company's site near Barnsley, commutable via car, from Sheffield, Penistone, Huddersfield, Leeds, Rotherham and Thurlstone.

R&D Technician Role
Your main duties will be:

  • Testing products and raw materials using analytical techniques including XRD, SEM, DSC, TGA and Particle Size Analysis.
  • Assisting other R&D Technicians with formulation development for lubricants and coatings.
  • Carrying out COSHH assessments.
  • Supporting other R&D Technicians during customer trials.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of laboratory areas and equipment.

Your Background
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum level 4 qualification (HNC) or degree (BSc, M Chem, M Sci) in Chemistry, Materials Science or similar.
  • Laboratory experience preferred.
  • Full UK Driving Licence for commuting and eventually for customer visits.
