Talentmark are recruiting for a Horticultural Technician to join a leading global food brand company on a contract basis for 12 months.
Salary: £14.85 – £18.59 per hour PAYE
Horticultural Technician Role:
- Look after plants and greenhouse facilities on a day-to-day basis.
- Check plants regularly for pests and diseases and apply biological pest control as needed.
- Monitor, maintain and calibrate the automatic irrigation system and prepare nutrient solutions.
- Inspect plants held in quarantine for signs of viral and other diseases.
- Carry out plant propagation and help co-ordinate the export of plant materials.
Your Background:
- Hands-on experience working with plants or trees, whether through a previous role or as part of a course.
- Good general horticultural knowledge and practical skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.
- Organised, detail-focused and happy to take on manual tasks.
- A horticultural, agricultural or biological qualification is desirable; a spraying certificate (PA1 and PA6) would be an advantage.
Location: This role is based at our client’s site in Reading area (need to be able to drive to the site).
It is essential that applicants hold entitlement to work in the UK.
