Talentmark are recruiting for a Senior Development Chemist / Product Development Manager to join a Lubricants Manufacturing company at their site based in Greater Manchester on a full time, permanent basis.
The Company: An internationally recognised UK manufacturer of specialist industrial lubricants, known for its strong focus on innovation and formulation science. With integrated R&D and manufacturing facilities, the business develops tailored solutions for complex engineering applications, supplying customers worldwide via an established global network.
Location: Greater Manchester
Your main duties will be:
- Work with Production on the manufacture of new products and assist with other products as required
- Work with Production to improve the right first time rate, and help improve manufacturing processes and procedures
- Work with other departments such as Commercial and Marketing to contribute to business strategy development through attendance of the Product focus groups, writing of strategy docs
- Attend customer sites as required to provide commercial with technical support
- Formulate and develop new products, improve existing products
- Create customer-facing (TDS etc) and internal documentation (QC specification etc) and SAP records for new products
- Prepare technical reports and presentations
- Liaise with Quality Control re problems with samples, batch monitoring and creation of QC specification for new products, including Safety Data Sheets
Your Background:
- Industrial lubricants experience
- Chemistry degree (or above) desirable
- Grease product development and plant support knowledge highly desirable
- Strong motivation and organisation skills
- Familiarity with product development methodologies
- Entitlement to work in the UK is essential.
