They are now looking for a scientifically strong individual to transition into a Business Development role focused on the UK market, supporting antibody licensing and strategic partnerships. The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will support and progressively take ownership of identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic partnering opportunities across the UK. You’ll gain exposure to the full deal lifecycle while working cross‑functionally with global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying and supporting external opportunities for out‑licensing, co‑development, and strategic collaborations, with a focus on the UK market.
- Assisting in the development and presentation of business cases, including opportunity analysis and risk assessment.
- Supporting BD activities across outreach, proposal development, negotiations, and deal execution.
- Coordinating cross‑functional due diligence with global teams across R&D, CMC, Clinical, Regulatory, and Finance.
- Contributing to alliance management activities post‑deal.
- Supporting the development of global business development and licensing strategy.
- Representing the organisation at local and international industry, investor, and partnering conferences.
Your Background
- PhD in Immunology, Pharmacology, Cancer Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
- Strong background in antibody drug discovery, including target validation and hit‑to‑lead optimisation.
- Ability to interpret complex biological datasets (e.g. affinity, specificity, in vivo efficacy) and translate into clear therapeutic and licensing narrative (relevant insights).
- Knowledge of antibody modalities such as monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), bispecifics, and ADCs.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and commercially curious, with the drive and enthusiasm to build a career in business development.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging with both scientific and commercial stakeholders globally.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (essential for bridging UK/EU and global teams).
- Client facing role: Willing and able to travel for client visits (car preferred).
