Talentmark are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Systems Engineer on behalf of a medical diagnostic company on a permanent basis. The position will be office-based in Gateshead, working Monday – Friday. This role focuses on the implementation, integration and troubleshooting of networked laboratory analysers and associated software. The role will also ensure the reliable data flow across database management systems, middleware, and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) platforms. This role is ideal for a candidate who understands both infrastructure and how laboratory data would flow between instruments, databases, and software systems.

Essential skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Wi-Fi).
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and cloud platforms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software applications and hardware components.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with LIMS or laboratory systems.
  • Experience in medical device/diagnostics environments.
