The predicted salary is between 27000 - 33000 Β£ per year.

Time frame: Initial 6 month temporary position with review

Salary: Up to £30k based on experience

Terms of work: Full time

Location: Hybrid working – 3 days in Chesterfield office, 2 days at home

Tasks:

  • Downloading timesheets from portals and inputting hours to Sage 50 payroll for 4 separate payrolls
  • Administering and accounting for SSP, SMP, SPP and pension payments
  • Accurate record keeping of payroll files
  • Processing BACS payments
  • Answering payroll related queries from employees, contractors and managers, providing timely resolutions and support
  • Timely implementation of weekly and monthly payroll as required for all PAYE contractors
  • Preparation of payroll year end, including reconciliation of payroll records, issuing P60s, implementing new tax codes and statutory updates in line with HMRC guidelines, and ensuring compliance with year-end reporting requirements
  • Handling finance admin for starters and leavers, including payroll set-up using P45s or new starter checklists maintaining exact records, and updating internal systems and spreadsheets
  • Calculation and payment of bonuses, rate amendments, backdated pay increases and holiday pay, including uploading information to client portals for billing purposes
  • Recording and tracking holiday entitlement for contractors, and responding to holiday balance queries
  • Utilising client portals to access time/billing data for contractors
  • Administration and reimbursement of expenses
  • Payment of the monthly HMRC liability

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have at least a year of experience in payroll
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Excel
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills
