Terms of work: Full time
Location: Hybrid working – 3 days in Chesterfield office, 2 days at home
Tasks:
- Downloading timesheets from portals and inputting hours to Sage 50 payroll for 4 separate payrolls
- Administering and accounting for SSP, SMP, SPP and pension payments
- Accurate record keeping of payroll files
- Processing BACS payments
- Answering payroll related queries from employees, contractors and managers, providing timely resolutions and support
- Timely implementation of weekly and monthly payroll as required for all PAYE contractors
- Preparation of payroll year end, including reconciliation of payroll records, issuing P60s, implementing new tax codes and statutory updates in line with HMRC guidelines, and ensuring compliance with year-end reporting requirements
- Handling finance admin for starters and leavers, including payroll set-up using P45s or new starter checklists maintaining exact records, and updating internal systems and spreadsheets
- Calculation and payment of bonuses, rate amendments, backdated pay increases and holiday pay, including uploading information to client portals for billing purposes
- Recording and tracking holiday entitlement for contractors, and responding to holiday balance queries
- Utilising client portals to access time/billing data for contractors
- Administration and reimbursement of expenses
- Payment of the monthly HMRC liability
Requirements:
- Candidates should have at least a year of experience in payroll
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Excel
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills
