A confidential, rapidly growing organisation within the clinical trials and life sciences sector is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead the development and execution of its global supplier network. This is a high-impact role combining strategic sourcing leadership with hands-on operational execution, ensuring reliable, compliant, and cost-effective access to commercial drug products and related materials used in global clinical studies. You will play a key role in shaping sourcing strategy, strengthening supplier partnerships, and enabling seamless supply continuity across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supply Chain Strategy & Development
    • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies aligned to current and future clinical trial requirements.
    • Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers across key international markets.
    • Maintain and expand product access across US, EU, LATAM, APAC, and MENA regions.
    • Build and sustain strong, long-term supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Demand-Led Supply Planning
    • Collaborate closely with Clinical Trial Supply and Commercial teams to understand pipeline demand.
    • Translate business needs into actionable sourcing and supplier engagement plans.
    • Support forward planning, capacity management, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Commercial & Cost Management
    • Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
    • Manage cost structures to support organisational margin and financial targets.
    • Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Supplier Qualification, Audit & Compliance
    • Oversee supplier qualification, onboarding, and audit processes.
    • Ensure all suppliers meet required regulatory, quality, and operational standards.
    • Partner with Quality and Operations teams to resolve audit findings and compliance issues.
  • Supplier Performance Management
    • Define and monitor supplier KPIs and service level agreements.
    • Manage performance issues, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Market Intelligence & External Engagement
    • Monitor global market trends, availability risks, and sourcing challenges.
    • Engage with suppliers, distributors, and industry networks.
    • Represent the organisation at relevant supplier and industry engagements where required.
