Jim Gleeson is looking for a Bioinformatician to join a well-funded Immunology biotech who have a strong portfolio of autoimmune and inflammatory therapies. This will be a one year contract on either an interim or fixed term contract basis.
The Role:
As Bioinformatician you will play a key role in advancing therapeutic programs through data-driven insights. Operating at a mid–senior level and reporting to the Principal Data Scientist, you will work with a high degree of independence while actively contributing to cross-functional project teams. The role spans preclinical and clinical programs, leveraging internal and publicly available multi-omics datasets to elucidate mechanisms of action, support indication selection, and inform strategic decision-making across pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the development, curation, and continuous improvement of the in-house multi-omics database, integrating internal and external datasets into a scalable and well-annotated resource.
- Independently design, implement, and deliver analyses of transcriptomics datasets, using reproducible, robust and up-to-date methodologies.
- Perform integrative multi-omics analyses to further understand mechanisms of actions and support indication selection.
- Maintain and develop the internal data sharing platform using R/Shiny to enable intuitive data exploration and decision-making by the wider team.
Your Background:
- Proven experience of the processing and analysing transcriptomics data.
- Experience accessing, curating, and analysing public omics datasets from resources such as GEO, ArrayExpress and SRA.
- Strong programming skills in R, with experience in RMarkdown and Shiny.
- Experience developing, optimising, and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and cloud computing platforms.
