Talentloop is partnering with a fast-growing AdTech business to find a Business Development Director. Our client sits at the centre of one of the most exciting growth areas in digital media - connected audio - and this is a true new-business role: opening doors, winning agency partnerships, and converting relationships into platform revenue. You'll join their Revenue Operations team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role is made for someone with an established network across UK media agencies. If you've spent years building genuine relationships with agency traders, planners and heads of investment - and you know how to turn those relationships into commercial wins - this is your chance to own a market.
What you'll be doing:
- Winning new business. You'll own the new-business pipeline end to end: identifying, pitching and onboarding new agency partners, and expanding the platform's portfolio of trading agencies.
- Opening doors others can't. You'll leverage your existing agency network to get in front of time-poor buyers, build trust quickly, and accelerate the path from first conversation to first campaign.
- Converting relationships into revenue. You'll negotiate and close commercial agreements, agree trading terms, and land agency deals that create long-term, repeatable revenue.
- Growing what you win. Once a partnership is live, you'll spot and convert opportunities to grow spend across the agency's client portfolio.
- Selling with substance. You'll act as a trusted voice on connected audio - advising agencies on the opportunity, industry developments and emerging technology, and translating their clients' challenges into compelling audio propositions.
- Working with the wider team. You'll hand over won business smoothly, partnering with Ad Ops, Accounts and Marketing to make sure every activation delivers - protecting the relationships you've built.
- Reporting on the numbers. You'll own your pipeline and revenue forecasts, presenting progress and market insight to senior leadership.
- Flying the flag. You'll represent the business at industry events, conferences and agency meetings, growing its network and market presence.
What we're looking for:
- Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in agency-facing commercial roles within digital media, audio or ad tech, with several years at Director or Head of level.
- A proven, quantifiable new-business track record - you can point to specific agencies won, revenue delivered and targets beaten, and you're comfortable talking numbers.
- A deep, active network across UK media agencies, including senior contacts at holding-group and independent agencies (heads of investment, trading directors, senior planners). This is essential, not a nice-to-have.
- Experience selling programmatic, platform or media solutions into agencies - from a DSP, publisher, omnichannel managed service or specialist media owner background.
- Commercial and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate agency and client challenges into effective audio solutions.
- Gravitas in the room: confidence negotiating and closing with senior agency leadership, backed by exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- A genuine interest in audio, digital advertising and emerging media technology.
- Able to commute to the office 2 days per week when not meeting clients.
Why this role?
This is a chance to join a business at the forefront of connected audio, with genuine ownership of the new-business number, direct access to the exec team, and the opportunity to shape how the industry buys and activates audio.
The details:
- Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays.
- Location: Hybrid. Head office in Leeds, with the business operating across Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham.
- Flexibility: Open on candidate location, provided you can be in the office 2 days per week when not meeting clients.
