Our client, a well‑established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, is looking to appoint a MEICA Estimator to support a diverse pipeline of infrastructure projects within the water and utilities sectors, on a permanent basis with flexible hybrid working option.
Responsibilities of MEICA Estimator:
- Lead the preparation of detailed MEICA cost estimates using bottom‑up methodologies
- Develop and refine project scope in collaboration with engineering and bid teams
- Contribute to technical submissions and tender strategies
- Assess and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value
- Prepare enquiries for materials, equipment and subcontract packages
- Manage risk, value engineering and cost planning throughout the tender process
- Support design development to ensure accuracy and completeness for pricing
- Work closely with project, commercial and delivery teams to align programme, cost and methodology
- Capture and analyse project feedback to improve future estimates
- Promote innovative and efficient engineering solutions
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Monitor project progress against tender assumptions during early delivery phases
- Support health, safety and environmental best practice across all activities.
Experience Required for MEICA Estimator:
- Strong understanding of MEICA systems within water and wastewater environments
- Experience evaluating supplier proposals across technical and commercial criteria
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce detailed cost build‑ups
- Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical engineering (HNC, foundation degree or equivalent)
- Familiarity with NEC or similar forms of contract
- Experience with estimating software (e.g. Candy)
- Knowledge of industry standards within the water sector
- Relevant site certifications (SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Water Hygiene)
