Low-Code Developer (Automation & Internal Tools) - Remote (UK) | Up to £70,000 + Benefits
The Opportunity
Are you a technical builder who loves the speed of low-code but possesses the mindset of an engineer? We are looking for a Low-Code Developer to join our lean Technology team. This isnāt just about dragging and dropping; itās about architecting sophisticated internal systems that sit at the heart of our business. You will be the bridge between complex data infrastructure and elegant, functional user interfaces, using modern platforms to solve real-world operational challenges.
Your mission: To lead the charge in "hyper-automation," turning manual, fragmented processes into high-performance digital workflows that scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapid Application Development: Design, build, and deploy custom internal tools and interfaces using Retool, focusing on high-quality UX and complex conditional logic.
- Automated Workflows: Architect multi-step automation sequences that connect disparate systems, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.
- Data Orchestration: Write and optimize queries to fetch, transform, and push data across the stack, ensuring our low-code front-ends are powered by robust back-end logic.
- Platform Governance: Act as the Subject Matter Expert for our low-code ecosystem, maintaining best practices in GitHub version control and environment management.
- Collaborative Delivery: Partner with Business Analysts and Data Engineers to translate "business problems" into "technical solutions," leading UAT and iterative deployments.
Technical Requirements
We need someone who understands that "low-code" doesnāt mean "no-code." You should bring:
- SQL & dbt Mastery: The ability to write complex joins and use dbt to build, test, and document your data models.
- Modern Data Stack: Handsāon experience with BigQuery (or similar warehouses) and an understanding of how to surface that data in a UI.
- The Low-Code Toolkit: Proven experience with Retool is a significant plus, alongside automation tools like Zapier, Make, or Workato.
- DevOps Lite: Comfortable using GitHub for version control and managing configurations via YAML.
- The "Builder" Mentality: You enjoy the "zeroātoāone" phase of a project and thrive on seeing your tools used by colleagues immediately.
- Agile Delivery: Experience navigating Jira boards and managing your own sprint tasks in a fastāpaced environment.
- Analytical Communication: You can explain technical constraints to nonātechnical stakeholders and viceāversa.
- RemoteāFirst: Work from anywhere in the UK (ideally within 2 hours of Kent).
- Occasional Connection: We meet up once or twice a quarter in the South East to brainstorm and socialise.
