Location: London (primary) - Minimum 2 days per week onsite (ideally 3)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract
Role Purpose: The Application Architect is the design authority for the Oracle Fusion implementation, responsible for owning, challenging, and signing off the Fusion application design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Authority & Assurance:
- Own the end-to-end Oracle Fusion application design
- Act as final design sign-off authority across all Fusion modules
- Review, challenge, and approve SI (IBM) solution designs
- Ensure designs meet functional, technical, and non-functional requirements
- Prevent over-customisation and unnecessary complexity
- Provide credible, evidence-based challenge to SI architects
- Validate design assumptions, estimates, and sequencing
- Ensure Oracle best practice is applied appropriately
- Escalate design risks and concerns early
- Ensure Fusion design aligns with enterprise architecture principles
- Integration and data strategies
- Security and environment standards
- Work closely with Data, Integration, and Security leads
- Support architectural decisions through later delivery waves
- Work closely with the Technology Programme Manager
- Provide architectural input into planning, risk, and dependencies
- Support design governance forums and decision boards
Essential Required Experience:
- Deep, hands-on Oracle Fusion application architecture experience
- Strong knowledge across Fusion modules (HCM, Payroll, Procurement)
- Experience acting as design authority on large ERP / Fusion programmes
- Proven ability to challenge SI solution designs
- Experience working through design and early delivery phases
Desirable:
- Experience of multi-wave Fusion implementations
- Experience in complex enterprise environments
- Prior exposure to IBM or Tier-1 SI delivery models
