About the Role
Do you have a wealth of experience as an Electricity Distribution Fitter and a passion for sharing your knowledge? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our clients training team at the Taunton Training Centre.
In this role, you will work to deliver high-quality Fitting training courses. You will also contribute to the development of innovative training programmes, using blended learning approaches and practical workshops. This is your opportunity to shape the skills of apprentices, new starters, and operational staff, while ensuring all training meets the latest safety and technical standards. Youβll also conduct assessments, including Trade Tests, to measure competence and progress.
Training will primarily be delivered at Taunton and Tipton Training Centres, with occasional travel to Eakring and operational sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom and workshop training.
- Assist in the design and development of technical and safety training to meet business needs.
- Maintain and improve training materials, ensuring compliance with internal quality standards.
- Work with subject matter experts to keep training up to date with current safety and technical requirements.
- Review lesson plans and presentations to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Observe and assess learners, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain training facilities and ensure equipment is calibrated, tested, and safe.
- Conduct safety checks within training areas.
- Collaborate with the Design and Innovation Team to introduce new training solutions.
- Uphold Health & Safety and safeguarding responsibilities for all learners.
- Complete accurate course reports and assessment documentation.
What Weβre Looking For
- Recognised Level 3 Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC, or equivalent Electrical Engineering qualification.
- Extensive hands-on experience maintaining Distribution plant and equipment.
- Strong understanding of Distribution Safety Rules and related policies.
- Excellent communication, planning, and time management skills.
- Proficient in IT, including Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience supervising teams or work activities is advantageous.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in training, coaching, or mentoring others.
- Familiarity with safeguarding or working with young adults (training provided if required).
- NEBOSH certificate/diploma or equivalent safety qualifications.
Additional Information
- Successful candidates will be expected to complete a professional training qualification.
- A valid driving licence is required due to travel between training centres and operational sites.
- This role involves working with learners aged 16β18, so an Enhanced DBS check will be required.
- Shortlisted candidates will be asked to prepare and deliver a training presentation as part of the interview process.
