Our Client is seeking an experienced Data Architect who will be responsible for developing the data architecture within the organisation. This role will sit within the Enterprise Architecture Team and will support the business in achieving strategic objectives while collaborating across wider IT functions from both a design and operational perspective.
As the Data Architect, you will be responsible for developing and maturing the organisation’s data architecture capability, while supporting architecture standards, governance, and strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Define and maintain the data architecture strategy and roadmap across all business capabilities, enabling business outcomes and technical remediation initiatives.
- Define and ensure adherence to data architecture principles, standards, and patterns.
- Provide assurance for technology change initiatives from a data architecture perspective.
- Support technology procurement processes (RFI/RFP) from a data perspective.
- Continuously assess data landscapes for architectural debt, modernisation opportunities, and decommissioning candidates.
- Collaborate with solution architects, technical architects, developers, and DevOps teams to implement architectural decisions.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies including AI and automation.
- Assess and recommend innovative data technologies that support business transformation.
- Maintain high-quality architectural artefacts including diagrams, catalogues, principles, and standards documentation.
- Play a key role in data governance and architectural maturity initiatives.
- Create and maintain an annual data architecture plan to continuously mature the capability over time.
Proven experience working as a Data Architect or within a similar role:
- Strong experience in data management and working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Comprehensive understanding of data management design across services, applications, and infrastructure.
- Demonstrable experience with data modelling methodologies and modelling languages such as UML or Archimate.
- Strong proficiency with database management systems including SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of CRM platforms and associated data structures.
