Talentedge is partnering with an established international consumer products business to appoint a Head of Financial Control/Plant Controller.

This is a senior, hands-on finance role supporting a key UK operation within a broader international group. You'll work closely with operational leadership, taking ownership of financial control, reporting, planning and performance while managing a small finance team.

The role would suit someone who enjoys being close to the operation rather than operating purely from a corporate finance environment.

The Role

You'll take broad ownership across financial control and operational finance, including:

  • Leading month-end reporting and ensuring accurate, timely financial information
  • Owning budgeting, forecasting and ongoing performance analysis
  • Business partnering with senior operational stakeholders
  • Analysing costs, margins and operational variances to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Providing insight around labour, materials and broader operating expenditure
  • Supporting commercial and operational decision-making through financial modelling and analysis
  • Overseeing inventory, working capital and fixed assets
  • Managing Capex planning, tracking and financial governance
  • Maintaining and developing a robust financial control environment
  • Supporting improvements across finance processes and reporting
  • Managing and developing a small finance team

About You

We're looking for an experienced finance professional who has operated within a product-led, manufacturing, FMCG or similarly operational environment.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Experience in a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, Plant Controller or similar role
  • Strong financial control and management reporting experience
  • Exposure to inventory, costing and operational finance
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting capability
  • The ability to partner effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience managing and developing a finance team
  • Strong systems and Excel capability
  • A recognised accounting qualification would be advantageous

You'll be comfortable working in a hands-on environment and getting close to the commercial and operational drivers behind the numbers.

Why Apply?

This is a chance to take on a broad finance leadership role within an established international consumer business, with significant ownership and exposure to senior stakeholders.

You'll have the opportunity to influence operational performance, strengthen financial processes and develop a high-performing finance function within a complex, product-led environment.
