Our client is a global leader in energy, specialising in energy trading, gas transportation, and gas storage operations.

About the Role

The Settlements Analyst will be part of the Settlements Team within the Trading Operations Department and will be responsible for supporting the trading activities arising from the Power, Gas, Derivatives and FX desks in London, offering a unique opportunity to gain experience across a broad spectrum of commodity products within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Settlement Management: Ensure the timely settlement of various products, including Physical Gas, Power, Environmental Products, Green Certificates, Derivatives, and FX Settlements.
  • Invoicing & Payments: Manage the timely production of invoices and payments for LNG and Shipping transactions, adhering to specific contractual terms. Ensure accurate pricing and due date calculations as per contract agreements.
  • Contract Understanding: Develop a thorough understanding of general and bespoke contract terms and conditions, particularly for LNG and shipping, and implement robust validation techniques.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Address and resolve discrepancies or issues raised by counterparties.
  • Project Involvement: Participate in key business projects, including the implementation of new systems.
  • Support Front Office Operations: Assist the Front Office team by understanding new products and ensuring their integration into the settlements process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Front Office, Finance, and Settlements teams to improve trading systems, workflows, and processes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in gas or power settlements, ideally in a commodity trading firm.
  • Contract review experience from a settlements perspective.
  • Knowledge of ENDUR is ideal.
  • Experience working directly with trading counterparties, commercial operators, and traders is an advantage.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent.
