About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Payroll & HR Administrator to join a dynamic and fast-paced organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and wants to play a key role in supporting both payroll and HR operations.
Working closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, and Benefits teams, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of payroll for a large UK workforce, while also supporting a variety of HR administration activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Payroll Manager with the day-to-day processing of payroll for approximately 1,000 employees.
- Ensure payroll data is processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with UK legislation.
- Liaise with HR and Finance teams regarding payroll-related matters.
- Respond to employee payroll and benefits queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support the administration of employee benefits and pension schemes.
- Assist with payroll audits and provide relevant information to auditors when required.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records and documentation.
- Process payroll changes and collaborate with relevant approvers.
- Generate, save, and distribute payroll reports.
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation, regulations, and best practice.
- Support HR and Finance teams with ad hoc administrative tasks.
- Assist with freelancer administration processes and employee record management.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 5 years' payroll experience.
- Experience working within a high-volume, multi-site payroll environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience assisting with payroll audits and auditor requests.
- Understanding of payroll journals and payroll accounting processes.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work.
- CIPP qualification (desirable but not essential).
