A fast-growing, VC-backed technology business is looking to appoint a Tax Manager to take ownership of its tax function as the company continues to scale. Operating across multiple markets, the business has ambitious growth plans and is investing in its financial infrastructure to support further international expansion. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern, technology-led organisation and build a robust, scalable tax framework. You’ll work closely with senior finance leadership and external advisors, acting as the internal tax specialist across a broad range of commercial and technical matters.
This is a broad, commercially focused position offering significant ownership from day one. You’ll provide practical tax guidance to the wider business and ensure the company remains compliant as its operations become increasingly complex.
Key responsibilities include:- Managing the group’s UK and international tax obligations
- Supporting transfer pricing policy, documentation and implementation
- Managing EMI schemes, valuations and ERS compliance
- Overseeing EIS/SEIS filings and ongoing compliance
- Providing VAT advice across UK and cross-border transactions
- Supporting corporate restructuring, remuneration and other ad hoc tax projects
- Reviewing corporation tax returns, computations and technical submissions
- Managing relationships with external tax advisors and HMRC
- Producing clear, high-quality written advice for senior stakeholders
- Assessing the tax implications of new products, markets and commercial initiatives
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and automation
- Professional qualification such as ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent
- Five or more years’ UK tax experience, either within practice or an in-house environment
- Strong exposure to areas such as transfer pricing, share schemes, EIS/SEIS, VAT and corporate tax
- Experience working with high-growth, technology or internationally expanding businesses
- Confidence advising founders, senior finance leaders and commercial stakeholders
- Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation and HMRC guidance
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to operate independently within a fully remote environment
