We’re partnering with a fast-growing technology business that sits within a wider, established tech group to hire a Finance Manager who will take full ownership of the entity’s finance function. This is a true end-to-end finance role, ideal for someone currently operating as a No.1 in finance within a startup or scale-up, or a Finance Manager ready to step into a position with significantly more autonomy and influence. While you’ll be the sole finance person for the business day-to-day, you’ll be supported by the wider group finance infrastructure, offering exposure beyond a typical standalone startup role.
As Finance Manager, you will own the full finance lifecycle for the entity, from day-to-day operations through to reporting, controls, and commercial support. You’ll act as the go-to finance partner for leadership, with scope to support operational decision-making across the business.
Candidate profile
- Experience in a sole finance role or as No.1 in finance within a tech startup or scale-up
- Strong end-to-end finance ownership experience
- Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating without a large team
- Solid understanding of financial controls, reporting, and compliance
- Confident working closely with founders or senior leadership
- Startup / early-stage tech experience is a must
Key responsibilities
- Full ownership of the finance function for the entity
- Managing day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
- Producing monthly management accounts with clear commentary
- Maintaining balance sheet integrity through detailed reconciliations
- Cash flow management, forecasting, and working capital oversight
- Preparing year-end accounts and liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Ensuring compliance across VAT and statutory requirements
- Implementing and maintaining appropriate financial controls and processes
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Acting as a finance partner to operational teams, providing insight and guidance
- Working closely with group finance on reporting and consolidation requirements
- Improving systems, automation, and processes as the business scales
