On behalf of our client, a multi-disciplinary advisory firm that is currently growing their Cybersecurity offering, Talentedge Technology is seeking an experienced Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security Consultant to support the secure design, delivery, and operation of industrial control systems across critical infrastructure environments. This role focuses on safeguarding OT systems throughout their lifecycle, from supply chain development through to live operational assets, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and risk management within high-hazard sectors such as civil nuclear. You’ll work closely with engineering, safety, IT, and compliance teams to assess risk, define security requirements, and assure the robustness of OT security arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform OT and Industrial Control System (ICS) cyber security risk assessments across operational assets and supporting environments
- Define, develop, and refine cyber security requirements to support secure OT system design and implementation
- Provide security assurance to validate the effectiveness of security controls implemented by supply chain partners and asset owners
- Assess system architectures, network segmentation, and security controls for SCADA, DCS, and Control & Instrumentation (C&I) systems
- Support clients in meeting regulatory, legislative, and industry cyber security requirements, particularly within civil nuclear and critical national infrastructure
- Contribute to the development of security cases, safety justifications, and formal security assurance documentation
- Support internal capability growth through the development of OT security frameworks, methodologies, and training materials
Skills & Experience:
- Around 5 years’ experience in OT/ICS cyber security, C&I engineering, or a closely related discipline, with a focus on security risk management
- Strong understanding of industrial control system architectures including PLC, DCS, and SCADA environments
- Experience conducting or supporting cyber risk assessments, security evaluations, or vulnerability assessments within OT environments
- Knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks such as IEC 62443, NCSC CAF, ISO 27001/27019, and NIST 800-82
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical risks into clear, actionable recommendations
- Experience working within the civil nuclear or energy generation sectors is highly desirable
Please note, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance or already holding active clearance to be considered for this position.
