An exciting position is available for a qualified accountant with strong technical abilities to join an award-winning Entertainment Group (based in Shepherds Bush) as the Financial Accountant.
Working under the Financial Controller, you'll manage Group-level accounting operations, regulatory filings, compliance matters and tax affairs for an expanding and creative organisation.
The Group has built a strong reputation through innovative projects and operates in both UK and US markets, with continued growth across its successful ventures.
You'll become part of a supportive and approachable finance team in an energetic, rapidly evolving workplace.
The ideal candidate will have trained at a TOP 20 accounting firm and gained exposure to Media, Entertainment or similar creative industries.
While preference is given to those with some industry experience post-qualification (particularly in Media/Entertainment/Creative sectors), exceptional candidates who recently qualified (1–2 years PQE) directly from practice are also welcome.
Strong technical capabilities and solid knowledge of Group consolidation and regulatory reporting are essential.
**Please note this role is based in the office five days a week
THE ROLE
- Management Reporting & Analysis
- Create quarterly bank reports covering consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements and covenant metrics
- Contribute to internal quarterly reviews and forward-looking forecasts with the FD and FP&A colleagues
- Accounting, Controls & Regulatory Compliance
- Complete annual Group consolidation and prepare statutory accounts for the parent company and subsidiaries, including tax calculations
- Serve as primary liaison with external audit teams and coordinate the yearly audit
- Manage overhead cost tracking, audit accruals, corporation tax entries and account reconciliations
- Submit dormant company accounts, compliance filings and other required regulatory documents
- Taxation (Corporation Tax, VAT & Payroll Taxes)
- Compute quarterly corporation tax instalments
- Complete and submit quarterly VAT filings
- Work with external providers on P11D reporting and file annual PAYE Settlement Agreements
- Serve as primary contact for annual tax obligations
- Additional Duties
- Manage Group and intercompany dividend processes and UK pension scheme administration
- Establish and maintain Group recharge mechanisms and monthly intercompany account reconciliations
- Authorize payments for central finance operations
- Contribute to system enhancements and process improvements, and participate in special projects with divisional finance colleagues
- Desired Qualifications & Attributes
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or similar), typically with 1–2 years post-qualification experience
- Practice-trained background with exposure to Media, Entertainment or creative industries preferred
- Solid technical accounting foundation, including Group consolidation expertise
- Sound knowledge of UK Corporation Tax, VAT and payroll tax requirements
- Understanding of UK statutory reporting and audit frameworks
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail and ability to work under time pressure
- Self-starter with collaborative approach and ability to work autonomously
- Enthusiastic, driven personality suited to dynamic environments
- Proficient Excel user
- Case Ware experience is beneficial
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
