We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join a supportive and collaborative finance team on a part-time, 6-month fixed-term contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or finance administration who is looking to broaden their experience across a varied finance function while benefiting from flexible hybrid working.
The Role
As Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, helping to ensure accurate record-keeping, strong financial controls, and excellent service to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Support both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Carry out bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Assist with month-end and year-end finance processes
- Support the preparation of financial reports and reporting schedules
- Maintain data integrity across finance systems
- Respond to finance-related queries from colleagues and stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls
- Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure efficient financial operations
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance Assistant, or Finance Administration role
- A sound understanding of basic accounting principles and finance processes
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience using finance systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- The ability to build positive working relationships across the business
Desirable
- Studying towards an AAT, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
