Workshop Technician Location: Redhill, Surrey Salary: Β£30,000 – Β£60,000 (Dependant on experience) Role Purpose: We are looking for a motivated Workshop Technician to maintain and repair plant machinery, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition. The role involves working collaboratively with the team to complete maintenance tasks efficiently, both in the workshop and on-site when required. Key Responsibilities: 1. Complete daily work schedules as assigned by the Workshop Manager. 2. Inspect plant machinery returned from hire, reporting any damage, required cleaning, or refuelling needs. 3. Prepare plant machinery for hire, following checklists, fitting new parts as needed, and performing all necessary tests. 4. Attend on-site breakdowns, carrying out repairs, and providing detailed reports on parts used and repairs completed. 5. Perform plant maintenance and repairs in the yard, applying knowledge of parts’ lifecycles. 6. Keep the workshop clean and organised, ensuring tools are stored correctly and workspaces are tidy. 7. Report site issues, repair progress, and part requirements to the Workshop Manager. 8. Contribute effectively as a team player, supporting colleagues as needed. 9. Maintain professional conduct, adhering to workplace protocols and dress codes. 10. Communicate effectively within the team, with other departments, and with management. 11. Be flexible and cooperative, taking on additional duties as required by the needs of the business. Essential Skills & Experience: * Ability to work at height. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Keen to learn. * Full UK/EU driving licence (mandatory). * Willingness to travel nationwide. Desirable Skills: * Knowledge of hoist operations. * Electrical experience. * Background in plant machinery, agricultural equipment, or mechanical engineering. * Welding experience. Education & Qualifications: * Green CSCS card (preferred). * Relevant qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or willingness to work towards obtaining them.
