We are recruiting on behalf of our client in Storrington for a dependable and practical Warehouse Assistant to join their team. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys a hands-on position and takes pride in keeping things organised and running smoothly.
The Role
You will support the day-to-day operation of the stores, ensuring materials are received, checked, stored, and distributed correctly. Working closely with production and other departments, you’ll help ensure everything is where it needs to be, when it’s needed.
Responsibilities
- Receiving and booking in goods in line with internal procedures
- Picking and preparing materials for production and customer orders
- Moving raw materials and finished products between areas
- Providing a counter service to issue stock to internal teams
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
- Keeping the stores area clean, organised, and secure
- Assisting with regular stock checks and annual stock takes
- Supporting with general stores duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment is preferred
- Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one
- Good organisational skills with basic numeracy and IT ability
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- A proactive and reliable approach to work
- Able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Flexible and willing to adapt to changing demands
