Postion: Logistics Coordinator

Location: Storrington, West Sussex Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Talented People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Storrington.

This is a varied role covering UK and international logistics, shipping and import/export, with responsibility for coordinating shipments from collection through to final delivery.

You’ll work closely with customers, suppliers, carriers and internal teams to ensure goods are transported safely, efficiently and on time, while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring customs and trade requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate UK and international shipments from collection through to delivery.
  • Arrange transport with approved carriers, freight forwarders and logistics providers.
  • Prepare shipping, import and export documentation.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, delivery issues or customs queries.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, carriers and internal teams regarding shipments and deliveries.
  • Ensure shipments comply with UK customs and international trade requirements.
  • Manage customs information including commodity/HS codes, customs values and country of origin declarations.
  • Apply the correct Incoterms to international shipments.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, customs, import and export records.
  • Support customs relief processes for goods being imported and subsequently re-exported.
  • Create and maintain sales orders and process customer orders for despatch.
  • Support invoicing and raise purchase orders for transport, freight and logistics services.
  • Support customs compliance requirements, internal reviews and audits.
  • Help identify and implement improvements to logistics systems, processes and procedures.
  • What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with previous experience within a Logistics Coordinator, Shipping Coordinator, Import/Export Coordinator or similar position, with hands-on experience coordinating both UK and international shipments.

You’ll need a good understanding of customs procedures, imports, exports and Incoterms, alongside experience preparing shipping and customs documentation.

Knowledge of commodity/HS codes and country of origin requirements is also important.

You’ll be highly organised, confident managing multiple shipments and priorities and comfortable taking ownership of your workload.

Strong communication, attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.

Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment would be beneficial, as would knowledge of customs relief procedures and customs compliance.

Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations, including IATA and ADR, would also be advantageous.
