Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 per year (depending on experience)

Location: Outskirts of Pulborough - due to their location you must have access to your own transport

Hours: 8.30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about environmental sustainability as well as workplace safety. You’ll play a key role in driving environmental performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the business.

About the Role

As an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator, you will be central to advancing a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role places a strong emphasis on environmental leadership—supporting initiatives that reduce environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and best practice. Working closely with engineering, production and leadership teams, you will help embed a proactive culture of sustainability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve EH&S policies and procedures, with a strong focus on environmental performance
  • Lead and support environmental compliance activities, including waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Conduct safety audits, environmental audits, and risk assessments
  • Analyse environmental and safety data to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Support incident and accident investigations, ensuring both safety and environmental considerations are addressed
  • Promote sustainable practices across all departments and influence behavioural change
  • Deliver training and guidance on environmental and health & safety matters
  • Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies
  • Drive initiatives that enhance sustainability, environmental impact reduction, and operational efficiency

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring a blend of environmental awareness, technical knowledge, and strong analytical skills, alongside a passion for making a tangible impact.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • IOSH / NEBOSH (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an EH&S role, ideally within manufacturing or a similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of environmental management systems, particularly ISO 14001, along with ISO 45001
  • Proven experience in environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, or resource management
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data analysis, PivotTables, reporting)
  • Experience using EH&S systems and compliance software
  • Confident in conducting audits and risk assessments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
